Today we had brunch for Penny's first birthday, and even though she has a cold, she still had a good time. Mom and Evie made zucchini muffins with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles. We ate asparagus quiche and fruit salad. Penny liked the fruit much better than the muffins and frosting. Oh well.
On Saturday we went to the apple orchard to pick apples for eating and pie with Oma, Opa, Aunt Tracy and uncle Brain. Evelyn had a lot of fun picking and eating apples and climbing the trees. Penny stayed snug in the stroller most of the time. When we had picked enough apples Evelyn and Courtney went for a stroll on a horse named Spike.
The grass at the orchard was pretty wet, so I wrung out Evelyn's socks while she played in the bounce house.
Then we picked out a small pumpkin and headed to Tracy and Brian's. We spent a couple hours peeling and cutting apples to make apple pie and sauce. It was delicious.
For Kim's 30th birthday Chrissy threw her a surprise birthday party at a state park in Ithaca. It was a good time, and great to see everyone.
